Sour Cream Meat Casserole

1 lb Ground round steak (not too fine)
1/2 sm Onion; chopped
1 cn (no 2) stewed tomatoes; mashed
1 pk (12-oz) noodles
1/2 pt Sour cream
1 pk Dry onion soup mix
1/2 lb Sharp cheddar cheese; grated

Brown ground steak and onion; add tomatoes. Cook for about 15 minutes. Boil noodles for 10 minutes and drain. Place noodles in a bowl; stir in sour cream and onion soup mix. Alternate layers of cooked noodles and steak mixture in a casserole; top with grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Will serve 5 to 6.

Note: May be made the day before and kept in the refrigerator; does not freeze well.
